Day 11 - Arusha National Park
We are now on our last day of the actual safari and we will end it in the Arusha National Park. We have booked a guide for a few hours walking in the park since there are no predators. We will get closer to nature and animals than we ever had the chance.
Day 12 - Arusha City and Oasis Hotel
Our flight is scheduled in the evening, so we have the full day to relax at the hotel and go in the city to see a side of Tanzania we haven't seen much. We visit the Maasai Market and the Swala Gems store in the Arusha Hotel. The store sells the famous Tanzanite, a precious stone found only in Tanzania. It can vary from blue to violet, clear to dark depending on the quality of the stone, and it is quite expensive.
End of Tanzania 2012-2013. Thank you for following me!
*Our whole trip was organized by Base Camp Tanzania and we had a wonderful time!*

This is the closest I've come to see the Kilimanjaro. We can barely distinguish the snowy top in the clouds, but it's there! Maybe one day I will hike up the legendary mountain.
This is Mount Meru, another popular destination for hikers.
Some flamingoes in a lake in the Arusha National Park.
During our little walk, we saw some buffalos from quite close.
A pretty giraffe.
They call this area the Small Serengeti. This is a samll plain in the Arusha National Park ressembling the huge Serengeti, home of thousands of animals.
